Hey Ladies, Jumping from second tri,

So i have had scans and monitoring which all came back fine but i am hoping someone, anyone else has experienced this or similar.

My husband and i arrived back in Australia from a USA trip (visiting family for turkey day) Arrived Wed 11th Dec.
Since this time i've notice a HUGE decrease in fetal movement.
I have an anterior placenta, but always felt baby sitting waaaaaay low and always had rolls and pokes, sometimes huge kicks if i bent over and squished him.
Since being back i've felt no rolls and barely feel him move around. I used to be able to lay flat on my back and see my belly jump immediatly. Now i can lay down for nearly an hour and feel maybe 1 or 2 tiny prods not enough to make my tummy move.
I went to the hospital on Sunday 15th and was put on monitoring twice. heartbeat looked perfectly fine and was fluctuating as they like to see. They did a quick scan that showed him "twitch" a couple of times.
On monday 16th i has a proper u/s. The scan took 30min and in this time he twitched his leg twice and moved his head once.
Everything looked good, he was on the small side within normal range (1lb 15oz at 26 weeks 4 days)

Since sunday my stomach dissapeared. Previous to this was distended and hard, since sunday is squishy and if i tense goes to a flat stomach.

U/s also showed baby in breech position, no-one can tell me if this is anything to do with it.

Has anyone else has their babies movements change and everything be fine?

I don't know about decreased movements, but glad your LO has been monitored.

With the change in tummy shape, I would hazard a guess that your baby is in different position to before and maybe that's why you can't feel so much. At 26 weeks there is a lot of room in there for them to move around, so you wouldn't necessarily feel every movement.

I would say if you still have concerns, get yourself and baby checked out again.

I agree. I'd say Bubby is probably head down now.
It never hurts to get checked again, though!

I also agree with the baby being in a different position. If baby goes towards your back both you tummy would look smaller and you'd feel less, and the can move about at any time, I would say soon enough baby will come back to the previous position. Also my little one stops moving much for days on end and come back bigger, she sleeps through her growth spurts. And finally mine also goes very still during scans. It's hard not to worry, but you've been monitored and baby is fine. Just wait, baby will back to battering you soon xx

Also I forgot to say.. I've had 2 breech babies now and i definitely feel less then people who have head down babies. I feel cervix, bladder and bowel kicks but have rarely seen a movement as everything is so low xx

I had a couple days of decreased movement around the same time. I went to the hospital to get monitored and it turned out the baby was in a bizarre transverse position and that's why I wasn't feeling her (I also have an anterior placenta).

Trying hard to not get upset. Thinking about going into see my midwife after work if i don't feel him again today

I'm sure LO is fine, but do go and get checked out again, better to be safe than sorry.
Let us know how you get on.

I went to the dr yesterday for this same reason. I will be 26 weeks tomorrow and the past week or so I noticed a decrease in movements. I used to be able to feel giant kicks from the top of my belly and suddenly not only was she not moving as much, but the movement I did feel was much softer.

She did an u/s and I could see her moving on the u/s but couldnt feel the movements--dr said as preg progresseses and the placenta gets thicker and juicier, sometimes you feel less movements in my case where the placenta is up front. She also put me on a monitor and seemed pleased with what she saw.

My baby made me look like a liar though becuase when they put the monitor on she was kicking so hard my belly moved lol. She hadnt kicked like that in DAYS and as soon as I go to the dr saying I cant feel anything she turned into the karate kid. :dohh:

Monitered on trace machine again and trace looked good. Still no no movements. Doctor suggested I go off at least 1 kick a day for the next few days but that I can come in for a trace whenever I like. They seemed fairly confident that everything looked ok and I could just no longer feel him

OK, so this is good news but you're still worried aren't you? I bet that when he's a bit bigger it will all come back. I still get quiet days when she turns to the back and is on a growth spurt. Keep posted xxxx

I can't remember if it was at 26 weeks but that seems about right because it was about a week or two ago but I noticed major decreased movement that freaked me out! I had been steadily feeling kicks and prods and rolls and for a couple days...feeble little movements. I remember laying with my hand on my belly one night saying "Come on baby, let me know you are okay" and feeling one singular tiny little feeble tap. (where normally at night he's tap dancing in there). It made my heart break.
A couple days to a week later he was back to it. I also personally thought that my bump got smaller and more flat (other didn't notice though).

Keep getting monitored if you feel like something is wrong, it's always better to be safe than sorry. I hope your experience is like mine and in a couple days the little guy will be kicking up a storm. It's hard working growing that much and sometimes I think they just have a quiet couple of days. :hugs:
