Major rant!

Ok this is what is going on. I know this person who (very possibly had) cheated on his wife. Well they are now going through a divorce with no children together. Well he is with the woman he may have cheated with. Well he is no where near divorced (she left her husband at the same time he left his wife)
Ok here is why I need to rant....... These people struggle everyday to put food on the table, gas in their car, and money to pay their everyday bills. As a matter of fact, they borrowed $100 for me and my hubby to put gas in their car for a family trip. Also we had invited them to a party/cookout/free booze, and they didn't come because they didn't have any gas money!? Well I find out today that they are going to spend money to get a tubal reversal! Don't get me wrong, I am happy for anyone who does it, but really? $5800 for a TR and you can barely feed the kids you have now? WTF? She is only 33, so she is young enough to wait a little longer for them to get their situation straight. They don't even have insurance!
Am I wrong for thinking WTF?

totally not, they should focus on caring for the kids they already have to support but wanting baby is also a very deep desire and one makes huge sacrifices to have one or another so I can also see her desire, I just wouldn't personally take away from my other kids what they need and deserve.

Rant away, it is definitely frustrating. I'm sure they'll be the ones who fall pregnant right away too!

Don't get me wrong, I hope that all goes well and that they have a healthy baby. I just think they need to get their priorities straight first. Like her 3 children that she has and their finances. I guess when I found out yesterday, after just loaning them $100 for gas, it really rubbed me wrong.

I completely understand. Even though I know some people might disagree with me, I think that you need to be in such a secure place financially and emotionally to have a child. At the school I work in I see parents every day who think that just cos they can have children that they should, sometimes more and more and more!!! However much we all desparately want children, I do think that the needs and welfare of the child - not our desires - should be the priority.
