Anybody got any knowledge?

I've had a scour of the internet and I've found a tutorial on how to make them but no idea where to get the material from?!

Where the bloody hell do I get it from? :haha:

And is there any sort of tips and tricks I should know?

Bit of a weird one- I know!

xxx

where i am our local market has a fabric store, but thats near me, idk about near you, sorry maybe not helpful lol i think any craft store maybe?

The fabric is called tulle, you can get it in most fabric shops or the likes of ebay etc

I've made a few for the kids, I get my tuille off ebay and some non-roll elastic I always run a small stitch around the top after as I found they kept coming undone with the amount of times they were taken on and off!!!

Hun U can get the material from hobbycraft on Bentley bridge x

I was thinking this, thanks lovely :hugs:

I've looked at the no sew way to make them, has anybody made them?

It's for a superhero theme next week so I better get cracking!

Hi there,

Like this one?

If you go to any fabric shop and ask for dress netting they should be able to help you. The above one is made with the no sewing method x

Yes! That's beautiful :cloud9:

this is a no sew one, I just ran a quick stitch round the band as the kids are overly gentle with it!!! Doesn't take long to do once you get in the rhythm xx

I made this outfit/tutu for halloween 2010.

Went into Boyes shop and bought 10m of tulle. Think it was like 80p a metre or something. I started off with a zig-zag folded seam on elastic, stretched it at it's furthest then cut out large triangles and layered them.

Thanks for that, hun.

Think I'm gonna get 10 M (it's for me, not a LO) and see now I get on, eek!

Will post a photo if it goes well xxx

God no way, hate myself for never doing it before ha!

Excuse the insane outfit  I'm pretty crazy, okay? :haha:

Oh my god!!!! That's incredible!

Please can I borrow you for a few days to help me with mine? :haha:

Will provide tea?

Mines going to look so boring compared to yours! I'm being batwoman, so it's black and yellow, mmmm.

How much tulle did you need for that? xxx

ETA: Sat here thinking HOWWWWWW!

 it's so simple, once you have the first one on you'll be hooked! Screw loom bands!

I used a YouTube video then squealed with happiness for the rest of the night. Net can be affordable but try other light floaty fabrics to mix-that's what I used there. I'd say 5m I used on that I'm sure?

Although you'll need a lil more if you are using net. , depends on how full and thick u want it.

I've been looking at YouTube and convinced myself I could do it... Hopefully

I'm going to fabric-y part of the market on Wednesday so should be good to have a nosey at the stuff they have.

I want it thick enough to not show my arse to the whole of central Birmingham after a few bevvies... That's not anything that can be stopped with layers though

I haven't worn a tutu since I did dance about 8 years ago- aaaah! xxx

If you want it to be nice and thick double up the material!

Good luck and don't forget to post a pic x
