Just wondering if anyone makes their own cards and sells them on to local buisness' or though friends/family/work/M&B groups etc?

I'm thinking I want to do something to make money whilst I'm off on Maternity and make it as a hobby too?

I'm not the greatest artiest or designer in the world and I'm totally new to the whole art & craft thing but thinking if you guys on here could give me some advice & if I look around craft markets etc for sales even if a card I make isn't a theme it's just the clearance items least it gives me experience and ideas?!

Hi, I just tried to reply but it won't let me put websites in my message because I haven't posted enough yet! But if you google handyhippo, docrafts and hobbycraft you should be able to find their websites and they all have card-making materials and loads of ideas to get you going! x

I had a friend who did this, she was really talented but didnt make enough money to continue doing it.

I make cards but just as a hobby but I've never tried to sell them but I don't think I would make enough money to do it full time maybe you could do it part time and work part time too??

Hopefully that's what I'll do :) work part time and do the cards in my spare time. When did you start making the cards? I think I'll try and make some of it when peanut arrives and I'm on Maternity to get my art abilities up :)

I made some thank you cards for my hen night 7 months ago and I've started making Christmas cards recently so not long really I like it tho it's fun. Yeah that would be good if you have time! :)

Hi i make cards as a hobby (also make scrapbooks, invitations etc)

To be honest the cost to make a really good card is going to be about £3-5 (when you include all the bits and pieces) so if you sold them it would be at a loss (most likely)

Still its something fun to do and i love doing it (espically in winter months) and you never know if you have lots of friends etc you could make some money out of it.

Someone did ask me to make a scrapbook for them and they would pay me (i did it for free as its something i enjoy but if i sold it i would do it for £30+)

xxx
