Hi!
You know if you are making up bottles in advance, and putting them in the fridge... Once you have boiled the water, let it cool for 30 mins, added the formula, shook it, do you then leave it on the side to cool down before putting it in the fridge or put it cold water to cool it down before putting it in the fridge? Does it matter? :dohh:
Thanks.
xx

Its no longer advisable to make up feeds in advance and refridgerate them; this is because of the risk of certain food poisoning bugs being in the milk powder (and there have been cases in the UK and Holland; hence the new guidelines) but if you must do it it would be better to put them in cold water to cool them down asap, and put them in the fridge as quickly as possible.

I'm not sure which formula you are using (powder or liquid), but we use liquid mainly. With the liquid, we have to use the entire can and put all the bottles made up in the fridge. Once the water has cooled, we mix the liquid in with the water and put it in the fridge right away.

When we go out, we put water in bottles, then when it comes time for a feed, we mix powder formula into the bottle, shake and feed straight away.

Liquid formulas that you need to mix with water are not sold in the UK; only readymixed liquid.

i premake my bottles and once they are made put them straight in the back of the fridge.

i pre make my bottles too and have done with all 3 of my kids, i put them striaght in back of fridge
