My husband and I had been ttc #1 for 6 months, and decided to go to the dr... I had a lot of tests done and came back that I am ok, so my dr order a SA for husband and it came back that his morphology is abnormal, at 2%. My OB decided to refer us to an infertility specialist but we will be moving in about a month, so we are waiting til we are moved.
I'm just wondering if anyone has advice or success stories, maybe any natural things we can try in the mean time. My Dr has told us in the mean time to wear boxers, not hot baths or hot tubs, or laptops on the lap.... It's discouraging but we both are optimistic.... Thoughts, or advice are all welcome please!!! :)

Dh and I were trying for a year when we found out he has very low sperm count. Borderline normal numbers are 20 million... he had 5000. We were told Ivf would be our only option using ICSI to inject individual eggs with sperm. It worked first time and we have a perfect son from it. We were going to try again for no.2 when I fell pregnant naturally! I'm currently 6 months along. Dh and I were both taking conception vitamins at the time and dh had been eating a lot of avocado, which he believes helped in some way!

So my advice would be that it can happen! Whether you need to go down the road of assisted fertility or not, just stay positve that it will happen. We were told there was no hope of a natural conception then it happened when we least expected it. I wish you all the best and hope it happens soon for you x

That's a great story! Congrats!!! And thanks for sharing!

Following - just got SA results from my husband. The doctor wants him to redo the test, but the results were outside normal range for motility, morphology, and concentration.

My husband has low motility and apparently 0% morpholohy. We were due to see a fertility specialist (me with PCOS and DH with abnormal SA) last week but got a surprise BFP last Saturday.
Obviously we are hoping for a sticky bean, but what concerns me is that if morpholohy was 100% abnormal then perhaps something will go wrong.
However, I am proof that it only takes one sperm.

Oh my goodness that is amazing!!! CONGRATS! I've read that low morphology sperm don't make it to the egg cuz they can't swim that far! So maybe it's that ONE that got away!! I hope it sticks!!! I'd love for hint keep me informed!

I am a POAS addict and the lines are getting darker. A cb digi says '2-3' so I am hoping that means that for right now at least everything is okay. I will of course let you know what happens as it is always nice to hear a success story.
When I googled 0% morpholohy I was devastated about what our chances were.
Hang on in there, your time will come. Xx

I've googled so much! My OB told me to have him wear boxers, no hot tubs or hot baths, and no laptops on his lap. I've read webmd that alcohol can cause abnormally shaped sperm (ding ding ding) this is our problem! Not that my husband is an alcoholic by ANY means, but he has a stressful job and like to come home and have a couple beers after work, I totally get that! I've shared this info with him, but as we decided to take a break from ttc I think he's just blowing it off. And he thinks that just having less to drink the week we try is enough, but I'm trying convince him that he needs to take a good break like the entire month, or how ever long. I'm trying to do what we can to avoid $$$ and our insurance covers any labs so the SA is free for us so I think we'd do it again in a few months, I just need him to work on these things! But like I said we are taking a break from ttc, so in my mind I'm like, let's do what we needa do now and be ready when we start trying again in a few months. Right now we are NTNP

Cutting down on alcohol is definitely something that can help but you'll have to talk dh into doing it for longer. It takes 3 months for new sperm to generate so ideally 3 months off would give him a completely alcohol free batch! If he's not keen, just remind him that you'll have to abstain for 9 months when you're pregnant so 3 months is a walk in the park!!

Also, I'm not sure what vitamins you're dh is on but fertilaid for men improved my dh's number of 'normal' sperm when we did a follow up SA. Maybe worth a shot?

He's said he would try his best to cut back the alcohol for me. But I've read it's only 2 months for new sperm. Either way, the longer the better for no drinking! I've seem fertilaid around the Internet but I'm always worried about taking new things! Right now he is just taking a daily men's vitamin.

Hello! When we hit 2 years ttc, dh went and had an SA done, 3 mill 33%motility. He was then diagnosed with varocel veins, and had a coil placed in his abdomen to fix it. 3 months later went back in, numbers didn't budge. He was then put on clomid for six months, still no improvement. Our re took him off of clomid and he started taking a supplement called horny goat weed. We have had 3 iuis total, and a month after the horny goat weed, was iui #2. 20 mill 33%motility one month later was iui#2 23 million with 36% motility. Still have yet to see a bfp, because im working with poor ovulation, but after ntnp for 4 months and hitting five years ttc last month we are ready to give it a go naturally for a while. Dh has started back on the supplements, in hopes that this time is our turn!

Hi!!! I'm bummed my dr didn't tell us his count, she just said he has A LOT. We want to try everything naturally. Unfortunately we have kinda been on hold for a few months, my husband wants to wait until we move back home, which will be June! But by then we will be NTNP for 5 months! That's terrible to me! Although I hope things reverse on their own! This is all so frustrating! And I feel like there isn't much on here talking about male factor infertility.

I hope everything goes well for you! Let me know!
