just wondering about some advise... My OH was so excited to become a dad but since LO was born he just seems down, he has no motivation - uses any excuse going not to go to work, hardly gets up on his days off i'm lucky if i can force him out of bed before 3pm and today he broke down in tears and said he doesnt feel himself any more and he keeps thinking about running away  I tryed to suggest he should go to the doctors and ask them about how hes feeling but he just said that he didnt need help and je will sort it himself.
The thing is he is an amazing dad when he spends time with her and says how he feels has nothing to do with her or me?!?!?!?
I'm really confused and wondering if anyone can offer any help...

Aww hun don't have any advice,

Just wanted to give you  :hugs: xx

It does sound a lot like depression, have a chat with your doctor to see if he can suggest something. There are also mental health helplines such as SANE that could offer some advice.

My husband went through this at some point , all i could do was be there for him and show him nothing changed between him and me ..only now that we have a baby certain things will change .

Some men find it very hard to adjust after a baby and everything. It is a massive change. Men see going to the doctors as a sign of weakness. However, either you need to escort him to the doctor or maybe go to councilling. Either way he sounds like he needs some support of some kind
