DOes anyone use MAM bottles the ones that unscrew at the bottom so you can sterilise them on their own in the microwave ?

If so do you think that if you put them in water to cool/warm could extra water seep into the milk through the opening at the bottom?

I have tried tun fir the first time today so far so good. I usually use NUK but lo tends to squeeze the teat on them

i dont think it possible due to the valves on the side of the rubber part that goes inside the bottom...it makes a pretty good seal..

I always stand them in water and no water gets into the milk

There is sometimes excess water in the join though so when I shake I get a litle shower :haha:

nope never seems to mix with the milk.love my bottles

oh and im always using the microwave to sterilise hehe

I use advent bottle warmer with my mam bottles so they often sit in water the valves on bottom of bottle are non return valves which means they only work one way! I also do the bottle shake after taking it out the warmer!!

No, if it does happen then the valve is faulty. It happened to me once and I emailed MAM, they sent me a whole pack of new bottles!

I was thinking same infact I was about to sell me bottle warmer as cant use it lol

but i googled bottle warmer for mam bottles and the avent one came up

I did think about taking the blue bit out but was waiting till I had been to town to but a cheap bottle to test it with as had visions of it melting my bottle lol

does anyone know if you can buy the extra bottoms and tops, i bought a starter set and it gives you 2 small 2 medium and 4 large and 4 teats but only 4 bottoms and tops and we were wanting to have more than 4 bottles out and I also like to leave one at my mums

Hi, they don't leak but when warming in water they do collect some water in the bottom. A good shake gets rid of it though. I love MAM bottles but i'm currently using avent ones with MAM teats, nothing wrong with the bottles. I'm just very lazy  lol and find them a pain to clean.

Love my MAM bottles :winkwink:

Hon you can buy `spare` parts on the MAM website  we too have the starter pack :)

as for water leaking in ... it hasnt for me however I too get a bit of water in the joining of the bottle but I just give it a wipe ... remember though if you warm or cool you are meant to remove the teat/lid because it can cause damage to the valve  I once didnt and the valve popped out because of the pressure from the heat :dohh:

i wondered the same so I just did a little experiment. I filled a bottle to 5 oz with hot water and left it to cool in a cup of cold water with some ice to see what happened.
It let in half an oz. I will be looking for a new brand in the morning.
Shame cos I really like them.
