I have switched to Mam bottles as hv suggested an orthodontic teat for Millie, and have to say these bottles are fab, love the self sterilisation part as I don't have to take steriliser or extra bottles when I stop away.

We are currently using the newborn teat (size 1) for aptamil 1 milk, but Millie is bringing up too much milk so have swapped her to cow and gate comfort as she didn't take to the aptamil comfort. Has anyone tried the Variflow teat by Mam or should I just get size 2 teats?

I use Mam ultivent too and we've always used size 2 teats from the start, the flow is very quick on standard milk as in baby doesn't even have to suck when the bottles full as it just flows out but is better when using a thicker milk.

I haven't tried the variflow teat as it is sometimes described as very fast flow teat and that's the last thing I want! I don't think Mam even advertise it as a variflow teat on their website

the self sterilisation feature is a bit nifty! what a great idea!

Oops sorry forgot about this thread as hubby couldn't find the variflow and came back with no2's. We tried them but they are far too fast, so she is still on number 1's but managing a lot better.
Love the sterilisation bit Shan, it is really handy, did wonder was it worth it as only 6 mins in a microwave steriliser but if I go to friends, I only need to take one bottle.

Can I ask, sometimes when Millie is drinking, the air vent at the bottom makes a whistling noise, which I presume is the air going through, as she feeds really well when this happens, but sometimes it doesn't do this and she squirms and pulls away, anyone else's do this?
