I've bought the Fern range from Mamas & Papas, and wondered if anyone had bought a non- M&P mattress? The cot size looks to be 1cm different to others on amazon etc, so not sure if will fit??

We've bought the Prairie range from M&P and my parents wanted to buy us the mattress for it, so they went to Mothercare and asked the sales assistants about it. They basically advised my parents that it was a bit too risky to get a mattress from anywhere else. So we're going to play it safe and order from M&P - that's how they get you of course!

With a mamas and papas cot and cot bed they are slightly different sizes to other cots so you will need to get a mamas and papas mattress they sell them in argos. Xxx

You can use another brand providing re gap Isnt more than 4cm.

See this link to which explaining it

Edited to add, we had a m&p cot and a John Lewis matress

We got the Fern package from mamas and papas and we got this mattress from mothercare, it fits perfectly with no gaps around.

Have been trying to find the info on the m and p website but they seem to have changed the description since we bought ours but basically they recommended a mattress of 139cm by 69cm and the mothercare one is 140 by 70 so 1cm larger and fits perfectly snugly. I have heard the stuff about having to buy a m and p mattress but as long as you check the sizes exactly then there shouldn't be a problem - just another way of tying you into buying their products in my opinion. Mothercare did say when we collected the mattress that you could return it as long as you kept it in the packaging so if you are worried you can always put it in the cot with the packaging on just to check size.

We have a m&p size 200 cot - 120 x 60 cm I think and ordered a mattress which fits perfectly from Boots online called Kumfy Sprung by Rochingham mattresses, not much dearer than a m&p foam mattress except it's sprung and seems to be good quality. For DS we have the same cot but a m&p foam mattress and it has sagged a bit.

We bought the Mamas and Papas Hayworth Package cotbed. It advised that we buy the size 400 cotbed matress from M&P. so we looked it up online, and found that Argos sold it for £50 cheaper.
If you shop around, you can still buy M&P mattresses, but cheaper elsewhere :flower:
