Mashed potato in babies bottle at 2 weeks!!!

It was Bringing Up Baby I watched and I watched it last summer, cos Noah was definitely born at the time! Must have been a repeat cos it was def same programme, with the 3 types of parenting xx

Apparently my granddad gave me a whole sausage when I was about 12 weeks old. My Mum said she went mad and he just said "well she was hungry!!" LOL x

lolol Of all the things a sausage?!

 how did you even eat a sausage without choking at that young? you're talented!

mashed potato...mmmm nice, not....
I haven't heard that one before, still, guess it less sugary than a rusk.
Heard all about whisky in a bottle before from old skool irish relatives, it was the norm a couple of generations back!

On the "bringing up baby" thing, I didn't see if but read about it. Now I do a lot of what I guess is considered attachment parenting (co-sleeping, baby wearing, extended bfing etc) but I also leave my babies outside in their pram. Does noone else do that??

I co-sleep, am trying to baby wear but need to get the hang of the sling first and I'm going to start putting baby to nap on the balcony soon (though if she starts crying I'm not going to leave her there as it seems they did on 'bringing up baby')

Not if he was crying, but I take it you don't mean that. Do you mean to sleep? If so yeah I have done it in the summer if he fell asleep in his pushchair I'd leave him outside cos it would disturb him coming up the little step into the house. But I only did it at FOB's house because he had an enclosed back garden, wouldn't do it at my house now (terraced street) as its right out in the open. I have a back yard which would be perfect really except theres gravel in the alleyway leading to it and its really hard to push the pram over, and I'd probably wake a sleeping baby so I've not bothered with that

Yeah, no, I wouldn't just dump a crying baby outside!! Mostly I do it when we come back from a walk, he is quite a micro-nap taker but if I leave him out he will sleep for upto 3 hours (um, longest I've left him out is an hour and then brought him inside). So today it is lovely and sunny but only 7 degrees, I positioned his pram in the sunshine and left him out there with the front door open.

When Sofia was a baby, so last spring, I would put her in her playpen outside the kitchen so she could be outside playing whilst I was preparing meals.

We've just moved house and our garden isn't done yet (read it's a big pile of earth) but I'm going to put a little fence around the terrace and then leave the doors open so the kids have somewhere secure to be.

Because Ale does sleep so well outside I am considering actually putting him down for a nap outside rather than just leaving him there after a walk.

Anna your picture makes me laugh so hard! Isn't that the typical reality of a mom with a constantly waking baby!!!!!

Certainly is haha. I was at college in a really deep sleep (was a really nice sleep actually :haha:) and my friends took pictures of me on my phone and uploaded them to Facebook :dohh:

i've never heard of people putting their baby to sleep outside untill now!

My MIL constantly goes on about putting babies in the garden to scream when they're upset! She says she used to put OH out there- push him to the bottom of the garden where noone could hear him and then go and get some sleep!! Apparently it was very common place!! :nope:

I have left Ben in his pram after a walk if he's asleep as he doesn't nap much. But I didnt dare leave him out there alone incase he woke and got upset- so I sat out there too for 10 mins til he woke!! :haha:

Blimey, I bet the neighbours were pleased! :haha:

My friends baby has a milk allergy and is on special formula called neocate and that has potato in and it stinks of potato!!

Neocate is hypoallergenic formul so it does have an interesting smell to say the least but hopefully you'll be happy to know that in doesn't have potato in it!
