Mastitas how long for anti bs to

Hi ,

I have mastitas and have been on anti biotics now for about 48 hours. I still feel really pretty awful particularly because my fever isn't coming down. Even when I take the ibuprofen left over from my c section I'm still getting temps of 102F. When the ibuprofen wears off its about 103.2F. Is this normal? I've had these temps now for about 4 days and I'm exhausted. My boobs are hurting less though.

It should have helped within the first 48 hours. There are a few different types that can be prescribed for mastitis so you might consider going back and requesting a different kind, it's possible the kind you were prescribed just isn't doing the trick.
