Maternity leave help

hiya ladies

just a quick question as im getting confused! (baby brain)!

I am wanting to take my maternity leave as soon as i can as im suffering with severe sickness..

I am due on the 28th June 2013 what date should i tell my employer i am taking my leave?

I don't think we can answer that for you! My understanding is that you can start your maternity leave whenever you like after week 29 (11 weeks before your baby is due) according to the CAB: https://www.adviceguide.org.uk/england/work_e/work_time_off_work_e/maternity_leave.htm

If you claim to take the full 52 weeks this means you would need to return to work before your baby turns 1 - the earlier you start, the 'earlier' you have to go back, unless you can tag your annual leave onto the start or end of your maternity leave of course.

Essentially it's entirely up to you, start it whenever you like!

I'm due 23rd June, I have 22 weeks hol which I have to take prior to my mat leave so I have 4 weeks left till I finish. My Mat leave doesn't actually start till 26/04

I think your earliest date would be about 12th April but check that.
