how many weeks were you when you went on maternity leave ?
do you wish you went sooner or later ?

i'm 16 weeks with identical twins, and i work as a toddler room leader in a day nursery. in an ideal world, i love to finish just before christmas, as its the best time of the year and i havent missed the craft or parties for 9 years ! but by then i will be just past 29 weeks - is this completely unrealistic ???

i have no idea what to expect, im only just showing now and feel great (at the moment !!) so your opinions would be really helpful !!

oh and im being booked in for a planned c-section at 36 weeks !

Hey Dippy....
I just sorted out my mat leave yesterday....I have 3 wks annual leave to take as well so was just going to use that originally and start my mat leave from 38wks (consultant won't let me go further than then) BUT...at 29wks this friday I am totally DONE IN!! LOL
Can't sleep, can't get comfy, struggling to sit at my desk without mumping and moaning etc....so i have decided to finish up a couple of weeks early (taking my mat leave from 36wks plus my 3 wks annual leave before then) meaning I stop work at 33wks which is only 4 wks away!! Hurrah!!
x

I finished at 26 weeks but took some annual leave (6 weeks first) xx

I also finished at 26 weeks, taking annual leave and officially starting at 29 weeks. I couldn't really work any longer I was knackered!! Didn't have girls til planned section at 38+5 and I put that down to taking it easy & keeping my feet up ;)

I worked up to 32 weeks the last week was a bit of a struggle but not impossible.

I worked until 35 weeks and then took 3 weeks A.L taking me to my delivery date at 38 weeks. I'm just about to go back to work next week and the boys will be 10 months. I think this is definitely the right time to be going back, I have a 3 and a half year old as well and I'm now pulling my hair out  So I'm glad to say I'm going back to work for a rest :haha:

My doctor just took me off work today at my appointment, and doesn't want me going back until after my boys are born. I am 26 weeks today. She said my uterus is measuring 36 weeks, and I have SPD. I am shocked to be off this early... I thought for sure I would work until at least 30 weeks. I've worked since I was 18... I'm worried about going stir crazy, but its what's best for me and my boys. I've been so uncomfortable and exhausted! And the SPD pain is awful!

I was planning to work until 31 weeks (2 weeks annual leave and then starting officially about 33 weeks), but went into labour two days before i was due to finish.

I'm still working, but I have the flexibility to work from home. It's getting to be more of a struggle though. I see my doctor next week at 32 weeks, and then every week following, so we'll see. He asked me to tell him when I couldn't work anymore... I was hoping to make it to 34-36 weeks, but I'm not so sure that is a good idea anymore.

I was signed off for 4 weeks at 23 weeks. I'm a teacher and that took me up to the school holidays for a further 6 weeks. I then took my maternity leave from the start of term which made me about 30 weeks-there is no way I could have gone back to work as even whilst being off work I've still been told off for overdoing it!
I had always been of the opinion that the longer you worked the better as it gave you more time when the babies are here, but I have to say I've thoroughly enjoyed the time at home with my daughter before the twins arrive. I've obviously been lucky the way my dates worked out, but after sitting this morning in the sun with my little girl playing, I couldn't help but think how I wouldn't have had it any other way this time round!
Good luck and hope you're managing x

Saturday is my last day..27 weeks. I cant breath, my back is killing and my job is being on my feet. Although, I will be at home with a 2 yo, so not sure how much rest I will be getting:)

I worked up until the day before my csection at 38 weeks. I work from home, though
