I am starting to wake up sore and was looking into buying a maternity pillow, but they are SO damn expensive, would a body pillow work just as well? They are on sale at Target for 8$ lol.

Are they not the same thing... the one i have is just like a big long normal pillow!

Can you get Dream Genii pillows over there? I paid £28 for mine brand new off Ebay and it was my best pregnancy purchase by far. Sooo comfy I couldn't sleep without it.

I tried normaly body pillows and standard v shaped ones but no where near as comfortable as the dream genii

Xx

is it when you get quite big or something you need a maternity/body pillow? i still sleep no problem and dont get uncomfortable but remember my sister sleeping with like 5 pillows.

I got mine around 20 weeks when my SPD started, I was like an arthritic dinosaur by 30 weeks

Well the "maternity pillows" here dont look the same as a body pillow (a long regular pillow), but maternity pillows are about 60$.....a body pillow is only 8$. lol. & yea you can get them later on but I wake up with a sore back so I thought a little extra support would help. I have never heard of a dream genii pillow.

Google it, they are a funny shape but really supportive :)

How about just buying a cheap one - see if it helps, if not save up for a "proper" one xxx

Yeah the maternity pillow I was looking at was this one: https://www.target.com/Leachco-Snoogle-Original/dp/B0000635WI/ref=sc_pd_gwvub_2_title

But I would much rather spend the 8$ on a body pillow to see if that works fine before spending 50$ on something I might not need lol.

Yeah, I'd say go for the cheaper body pillow, as I just use a regular pillow and it's super comfy :)

I'd say the cheaper one would be just fine. Least if you get it and it turns out not to be much good you havnt wasted a fortune
x

I have a body pillow, but my tummy eventually squishes the pillow so that part will be kinda flat by the time I wake up. Not much use. lol. I'm looking for an official preggy pillow now.

i loveeee the full body pillow meant for pregnancy. it costs like $150 new which is INSANE and i would never pay that, but i found one on craigslist, brand new for 40 bucks so i bought it. it looks like this:

and its soo comfortable. i wrap my legs around it, and tuck the back right behind me.
i also have a wedge for under my belly that i use when i'm really uncomfortable.
maybe you can find a pillow on ebay or even craigslist :D

Oh wow, that's quite a pillow! I wish I had room on my bed for a real nice preggy pillow. I barely have room for me on there now. I almost fell out of bed last night even, and I wasn't even trying to fit in the body pillow! I think once I'm at the end of my 3rd trimester I might kick OH out of bed and replace him with loads of pillows so I can get some decent sleep lmao :haha:

I was surprised how much comfort I got out of a peanut pillow. It's meant to go between the legs when sleeping on your side, and it is great for nursing after babe is born. It was only $20.

i know what you mean! its quite a big pillow and sometimes i feel like theres no more room on my bed, i already had to kick my puppy off the bed
but its soo comfortable and i feel like im sleeping on a cloud. hehe it helps with back pain because you can tuck it in right behind you and it honestly takes a lot of pressure off your back

i just sleep with 2 body pillows one in front of me and i kind of put it under my belly for the support and one behind me to keep me from rolling onto my back. it seems to work for me and ive been sleeping pretty well aside from the occasional trip to the bathroom
