My former neighbour has a little girl called Matilda nicknamed Tilly. I wasn't so much of a fan of the name at first but it really suits her and I couldn't imagine her as anything else.

My mum is 69 and called Matilda - she gets Tildy, Till and Tilly off differnet people. I actually considered this if we had a girl but DH thought it would upset his mum!

I love the name Matilda. It's on my list. I'm in Canada, where it's not a common name. The few people I've mentioned it to over here don't seem to like it though
