I'm a first time mom and I looked up the differences and I'm still confused which is more comfortable for the baby, the cabrio or the pebble? Also what isofix base did you go for?

The pebble had only just come out when I got my cabrio last time but don't they go on different bases? The base for the pebble will also take a stage 1 seat the base for the cabrio is a bit cheaper but only takes that one - you'd need a whole new seat for stage 1.
The pebble is the newer design so may be safer or lighter or something, I'm not sure.

As it was new at the time (4 years ago) we got the cabrio and easyfix (I think) base (Pebble goes on family fix) and then a new stage 1 isofix seat as it worked out cheaper than buying a set of brand new stuff out.

We got the pebble mainly because it was on special and the cabrio wasn't. Both the pebble and the cabrio fit into the familyfix isofix base but we decided to go without the base. Which? classed the pebble as safer belted in with a 3 point belt than with the isofix base and it depends on what car you have as to whether an isofix base will fit.

We got the Cabriofix because it was much cheaper (on offer when we bought it) and we couldn't see why the Pebble was more expensive. It's been used daily for 21 months (lasted my LO til 16.5 months but used as a seat in the living room and for strapping into when I need a shower!)

It's been bashed about loads and although its a bit scuffed on the bottom, it's in perfect condition ready for the new baby. We used it with the family fix base (isofix) but its very easy to strap in using the seat belt. You can buy a base too that is secured with just the seatbelt.
It's best to go and have a look at them to get an idea for which you prefer.

I would go for cabrio with the base from the reviews I read on which.co.uk. They have both maxi cost carseats on there and show all the tests they have done on it and reviews - you need to sign up but It's well worth it! I've found it helpful in deciding what I should buy for our baby :)

Hi, i work in a baby store as a car seat specialist.

The Pebble is quite popular right now (one of my personal favs). Both seats can be used with the isofix family fix base and once the baby grows out of the Pebble, the Maxi Cosi Pearl is the next stage car seat that fits onto the isofix familyfix base.

I'm not sure if you also knew both seats can be used with the Quinny or Maxi Cosi pushchair to make a travel system. :)

I'm going for the cabrio because its slightly lighter (I have arthritis) and because the Pebble won't fit in the Easyfix base which has isofix and can be used with a seatbelt so I know that if grandparents take baby out and don't have isofix, I can fit the base and know its done correctly. It's just a bonus that its cheaper than the Pebble :)
