I've read a few people had examinations down there on their first gyn appointment . . .

Is this true for the majority of people?

It's just I want to make sure I can book in a wax in time

LOL! Maaybe, I don't think the doctor cares! Can you imagine the sort of stuff those guys would have seen in their careers? hee hee..

But to answer your question, mine didn't. He just wanted to talk about medical history and what we should do next as far as testing etc.

mine did! She wanted to takes swabs to check for infections. I guess its different for everyone, depending on what has already been done. Have you had any tests done?

Mine did. I wasn't given any prior warning. About half through the chat, she said "pop up on the bed and we'll take a look at you" I have never been sooo embarassed! I had hairy legs and a proper lady garden. Was due to have a wax at the weekend, so things weren't tiday downstairs. Was wearing old pants and had earlier.

I think it's different in each area, why do you give them a call to find out?

All I've had done so far is a set of bloods to check for normal things such as menopause, thyroid, prolactin ect.

That's why I'm wondering
They sent me a leaflet and it said some people have an examination

I didn't at mine. But we can't get referred to the fertility clinic in Plymouth until all the tests have been done by the gp.

I did, they routinely check you. They don't give a stuff about waxing but I made a special effort and had silver stars down there.... wasnt intentional, they were in my bath bomb and got "caught up" from my morning bath!! Gave the FS a hell of a shock!!!

haha i really do no think the doctor cares what its like down there.
all my examinations were internals before i had a m/c so yes she went down there but they dont comment on anything, theyve seen it all before! theyre just doing there job

hey hun, mine didn't examine me as it was hubby's appointment but i had to go along...it was family history and that sort of thing that they asked us about

i guess if they do check you out its routine...
