Measles???????

Just found a letter in the kids' school bags saying there are 3 confirmed cases of measles in the area....now I'm panicking in case one of my babies get it. Lauren and Abi have been vaccinated, Toby had his 1st MMR jab a few months ago but obviously Erin hasn't had hers yet

The letter says to make sure the kids have all had their 2 lots of MMR, 2nd lot isn't till 3-5years. I'm panicking in case we may have come into contact with it. I'm really getting worked up and it may be unnecessary but I have a horrid feeling in my tummy about it IYKWIM?

I hope they don't get sick, but try not to worry too much, measles used to be just as common as chicken pox and is very rarely very serious...it's usually just a mild childhood illness with no major side effects...and they would get lifetime immunity that the vaccine doesn't offer...atleast one plus to it?

Thanks for that link Bec...it is near but not too near us. The school letter didn't say where...it just said 3 nursery school children at a Salford school. They don't always say what school is involved as many parents take the kids out of school as a precaution.

Still...I guess we need to keep on our toes
