So i had my 34 week midwife appointment today.

When i came in she asked about my previous scans and then had a feel of my tummy. She said the baby feels small and that my tummy is very tight- all baby.
I am measuring 32 when im 34 weeks.

I have been sent for a growth scan and should receive this in the next few days.

When i had my son 3 years ago i was sent for a growth scan as i was concerned over the size of my bump. However this time im worried as she said he feels small.
Anyway here is a pic of my32 week bump so you can all give me your opinion.

What does everyone think?

Hi, I feel much smaller with this lo than I did with dd and also didnt show at all till 16 weeks and couldnt really tell until 24 + weeks. x Am sure your lo is fine. Maybe lo was curled in a ball?

2 weeks small is nothing I'm sure - your bump looks neat and tidy (mine's the same). Better to be safe than sorry though!

i'm about the same as you hun and my baby weighs 4lbs which is fine she weighed 2lbs12oz at 30 weeks, she is still small but within range now where as before she wasnt. yet im measuring at 30 and a half weeks...i dont know why they bother with fundal height its not accurate and different people get different readings and as for baby feeling small i dont get that because at 32 weeks they are still small...but its good they've sent you for a scan. you are small i'll give you that but babies put on weight so quickly from now onwards, one of my friends looked small but she had a 9lb baby 2 weeks ago! let us know how the scan goes! x

i wouldnt worry hun
you dont look much smaller than me-and im 33 weeks and 3 days.....
i can even wake up and only have a little tiny nump as feel totally not pregnant when baby is a certain postiion and i meausured my FH on these days and at 33 weeks exactly i woke up and it was so weird felt like bump had gone and FH was 28 weeks!! two days later baby in lying in front as i can feel the pressure and FH is 31....so big dif hun!

and FH always allows 2cm up

I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes I don't even look pregnant! Everyone carries differently and every baby develops differently. That's why some come out MAHASSIVE (10 pounders) and some are ickle!!!!

I wouldn't worry I had 34 week appointment n only just measured 32cm went straight thru for growth scan as I don't seem to be growing and baby is big! Well 5 n half pounds upto now so should be a good 8 when born! I havnt put any weight on as I'm still sick a lot but the scan should put your mind at rest x

I am measuring small about 29 weeks at 32 week appt and was told to rest more. I have been reassured by lots of friends who were also told they measured small and there babies were fine. It is difficult not to worry but i am sure all will be fine xx

It's so weird how different midwives say different things. I just had my 28 week appointment and measuring 27.5. She said not to worry as they do the measurement with a leighway of 2cms either side. So either 2cms too small or 2cms too big. I wouldn't worry and just take the opportunity to see your baby again. Your bump looks perfect. Xx

im 35 weeks and your bump is bigger than mine...i measure 29 weeks and have loads of growth scans...baby is happy and healthy just a bit small...chin up :)

I was measuring small at my 32 week appointment when they measured by my bump. Went for a scan and everything is fine. I was 32 weeks 6 days and she was measuring at 32 weeks 5 days. I don't know how much she weighed? Didn't even think to ask?

I honestly think I have lost more weight since my last scan, I have measured my bump around with a piece of rope and it is getting smaller. I eat all the time though. I guess we will see what happens at my appointment next Friday. (We do not have a scale)

I am sure your baby is fine. Some babies just grow differently, and are carried differently <3

aww babe i measure a week small im 35WEEKS but measure 34weeks i do look bigger but im carrying alot of water my MW said which upset me as long as baby is still growing and is healthy theres nothing to worry about xx

I'm also measuring two weeks behind belly wise, but my doctors aren't concerned, baby boy has already dropped and is engaged though as well. I have him weight on Monday so well see.. Hope your LO is okay.

They can't really tell how big your baby is just by feeling and measuring your bump.

I had an ultrasound at 31+4 and baby was measuring spot on despite my tiny bump. I had a midwife appointment at 32+2 and the midwife spent the whole appointment trying to CONVINCE me that my baby was too small, just because she used a tape measure to measure my bump.

She was very rude and kepd insinuating there was something wrong with my daughter... When just a few days before my OB had told me she had had a growth spurt and is perfectly on track.

I'm sure your bub is fine, and your growth scan will be perfect. Your bump is bigger than mine btw, we just don't carry like everyone else!

Good luck xo

Thanks everyone for your replies. Im not to worried as i had the same with my son, its more the fact she said he felt quite small. I am now waiting on the scan date to come through. Once i have seen he all ok i will be happy happy :) xx

I've measured 2cm below my weeks all along... My midwife said that it's perfect and wouldn't consider a growth scan unless I was more than 3cm below my weeks.....
