I was just wondering how many plus sized ladies are measuring big for dates - and if so by how much?

I had a 24 week midwife appt (as an extra due to bleeding complications) and I'm measuring 2.5cm bigger than I should be. Was a UK size 18 prior to pregnancy, at 5ft 1", but as of yet haven't put on any weight as I'm trying to keep tabs on it.

Just a bit confused as I'm sure my pre-pregnancy tummy stuck out more than 2.5cm

they give or take 2cm either side anyway, so if you are 24 weeks but measuring 22cm or 26cm they would class both as normal, hope this helps!

Hi its not your tummy that they measure its the height of your uterus so pre pregnancy size shouldnt effect it.
My mw said they ve changed the correlation between weeks and cm as its ineffective. I ve yet to hear about the new way. I think they do a baseline measurement at 16 weeks and as long as you continue on the same scale then its fine.
I wouldnt worry, even the way baby is laid can effect the measurement. x

Oh, I didn't get measured at my 16 week appointment for a baseline, so they've nothing to compare the next measurement to........
