4weeka ago i had my bubba, i was perscribed only paracetamol and ibuprofen to fo home with 3 weeks later i was told to be on stronger tablets the day after that i was then on even stronger ones which ive now been on for a week i also had a infection for the past week which my antibiotics run out today.. Just wondering how much longer should i keep taking these painkillers? My doctor perscribed me a pack of 100! But ive been reading around and some women stop their meds anything from a few days til 2 weeks, im barely feeling any pain anymore should i just stop them now?

Usually after the first few days, pain medication is prescribed "as needed." Meaning, if you are not having pain and don't need them, you shouldn't take them. Check with your doctor, of course, but if it were me, I would lower my dosage/skip a dose to see how my pain level was without the meds. If I was doing fine without it, I'd stop taking them.

if you feel that you need them, take them. if your not in that much pain, try paracetamol and go from there. i had some cococamol fro 2 weeks and i felt i needed just a week more, but i didnt have time to go to the drs so i just stuck it out.

I stopped taking the strong pain meds after one week, but took the Ibuprofen for 2 weeks. Then I only took the Ibuprofen before we would do any errands because being up walking around and driving a lot would be painful. But that was only for a week more. So by 3 weeks post partum, I was on no pain meds.

I stopped taking my meds after a week (co dydramol, diclofenac & clexane injections) but then like you I got a little infection which was a little painful so I started taking my painkillers again for a few days along with the antibiotics, I would say that if your not in any pain anymore and your happy then stop taking them but keep them to hand just incase you have a sore day as I still get them every now and again
