Hi there! After a request to post a thread to introduce our little man, here it is!

Born 16th October 27+5 weighing in at 2ob 12oz.

I kept a blog - https://www.thoughts.com/josephs_daddy/blog

And, I created a video on Youtube. Have a watch and listen to the lyrics. The song is written by Athlete, and is called Wires. The lead singer had a premature daughter and he wrote the song for her.

Feel free to comment on the video!

Thanks!

Thats just so touching, what a perfect sound for your video as well. I absolutely love the shot of him in your arms and you holding you arm/hand next to his head. It really shows how tiny he is. Is he home yet??? he is just gorgeous!!!!

Hi!

Yeah, he came home on December 23rd after ten weeks in hospital. I'm thinking of editing the video to say he's home.

He weighed 6lb 4oz upon discharge - the single most happy day of my life!:winkwink:

Very touching video. He's beautiful!

Mike,

such a touching and inspirational film, I was in tears whole way through, the song captures exactly what we have all been through.

Joseph is just gorgeous :winkwink: xx

Oh my gosh. What a special video and such a special little man. Watched it in tears! So glad he is home and doing well. I work in NICU and it never fails to move me how amazing the parents and babies are.

Amazing, so gorgeous. Im really happy hes home. well done.

I had no idea this song was about his premature baby!

Bless him, what a fantastic weight he was! My Alex was 27+4 and they said her weight of 2lb 4oz was grand, so Joeseph is a strong lilchap!

that is so touching! Congrats on your son and I'm o glad he is doing well. Omg I love that song i never knew it was about his premature daughter! OT but was his daughter ok??
x

I believe so, yes, as one of the lines states:

"Looking at you now, you would never know"

I still get a lump in my throat watching it, and I made the thing!!!:dohh:

Strange, how he's due today - yet he's 12 weeks and 2 days old!!!

Love you little man. Mummy and Daddy. xxx:baby:

Happy due date baby Joseph

Congrats mummy and daddy he is a little treasure xxx

I haven't watched the video yet, but I can guarantee I'll cry! That song always sets me off thinking of what we went through with Abby.

Happy due date Joseph!

Edited to add:

Yes just watched it and am blubbing like a little girl.

Brilliant video.

Thanks for putting that fantastic film of Joseph on, ( i love that name for a boy) it really helps to hear positive stories, my little girl Neave is still in hospital born 25.5. She is seven weeks old and is doing really well. We will be making a film for her too.!!:hugs:

What a lovely video! Hes such a little fighter, It really touched my emotions that video, you must be SO proud xxx

Brilliant video, completely captures what we have all been through with our little ones! So glad Joseph is home now, my twins came home at the end of October after 8 weeks in SCBU and as you say it truly is the best day of your life :o)

Congratulations...lovely video. I didn't realise wires was about a premature baby It hought it was about someone in a coma...how lovely...xx

You got wires, going in
You got wires, coming out of your skin
You got tears, making tracks
I got tears, that are scared of the facts

Running, down corridors through, automatic doors
Got to get to you, got to see this through
I see hope is here, in a plastic box
I've seen christmas lights, reflect in your eyes

You got wires, going in
You got wires, coming out of your skin
There's dry blood, on your wrist
Your dry blood on my fingertip

Running, down corridoors through, automatic doors
Got to get to you, got to see this through
First night of your life, curled up on your own
Looking at you now, you would never know

I see it in your eyes, I see it in your eyes
You'll be alright
I see it in your eyes, I see it in your eyes
You'll be alright

Alright

Running, down corridors through, automatic doors
Got to get to you, got to see this through
I see hope is here, in a plastic box
I've seen christmas lights, reflect in your eyes
down corridors, through automatic doors
Got to get to you, got to see this through
First night of your life, curled up on your own
Looking at you now, you would never know.

Congrats on your little man the video is truly amazing brought so much back. I hope Joseph continues to do well xx
