OK, so after much deliberation I decided to go for a baby bjorn carrier which I am really loving and it's great for taking LO out and about shopping etc. as it is so easy to take on and off. However I would still really like one of the cloth carriers for when I want to put her in it at home, but given the somewhat steep price of mei tai / babyhawk etc I have decided to try my hand at making one. Could one of you baby wearning mummies be so kind as to tell me roughly how big the main body of the mei tai is, as in the length and width of the rectangular bit that the baby actually sits in? There are patterns on the internet but I have never been any good with patterns; can't be bothered to follow all those fiddly instructions and would rather just have a go for myself but I want to make sure that the main carrier bit is roughly the right size. Thanks :)

The main panel of the baby hawk is 15" wide and 21" long- hope that helps! :)

Thank you so much :) I am not sure I will be able to make one as good as the babyhawk but I'll give it a go!
