i've got my first one tomorrow

i know what the idea of it is, but dont know what to expect after,
is it painful or just uncomfortable?

& how soon after will they suggest another/induction if its not successful?

thankyou :flower:

Not speaking from experience but I've heard that it's just uncomfortable :)
Hope it gets things moving for you though xx

uncomfortable...
but not so uncomfortable i was refusing to have it done again lol.
I would have had it everyday, so not to be induced. Thankfully the day i was scheduled to have my second i was in labor :D
But unfortunately they don't tend to work when your under 5 days over due :/ but i think they deffo help, they just don't necessarily work... iygm?

I think they are only painful if you are very unfavorable. Mine was just cringeworthy not painful lol. I had nothing different whatsoever after my sweep, i had it at 1 day overdue and went into labour at 5 days overdue so i dont think mine worked lol. They say that you can loose your plug or have light bleeding afterwards but i didnt have anything lol.

Personally, I found it very uncomfortable and a bit painful, but I went on to have two. It brought tears to my eyes.. I think they give it a few days, I can't remember what I was told after my first sweep, but my second sweep was on a sunday, when i was 41 weeks + 9, and I was booked in to be induced on the wednesday (41 weeks +12) But I went into labour on the tuesday, two days after my second sweep.

It's not pleasant, just breathe through it. It doesn't take very long either, so just know it won't be a long discomfort. Good luck!

Mine was ok, I mean it's not exactly a great experience and the thoughts not that nice but it just felt like ALOT of pressure and didn't hurt me really I had a few niggledy period pains during and afterwards but they were something I could just ignore x
