menopause?

Hi. I'm 42 and my husband and I have been trying for a baby for over a year. I got pregnant last April but had a MMC and nothing since. After the mc my periods have been coming 2-4 days early. I saw the doctor who did 21 day progesterone bloods and it came back that my progesterone was low. Doctor said I probably wasn't ovulating and it was probably start of menopause and that we weren't entitled to any help as we both already have children from previous relationships.

So my period was due 4 days ago. 10 days ago I had cramping as if AF was coming, but nothing. I tested Sunday - definitely negative. Tested again today, definitely negative.

I'm guessing thats it and we have no chance of conceiving now. Has anyone been through this? I always thought missing a period was something that happened in late perimenopause whereas I should only be in the very early stages!

Is it worth me taking agnus castus and maca? Or is that just expensive false hopes?

You may be 10 years off from menopause, so it is certainly NOT impossible for you to have another child. Many women have low progesterone, that in itself is not an indicator of menopause. Do you know if you are ovulating? Did the doctor test anything besides progesterone? The doctor seems to have been incredibly insensitive & harsh, IMO.

I don't want to make you feel like you will for sure be able to conceive, of course I don't know! You may conceive next month, it may take a year, or it may not happen -- all of those options are POSSIBLE.

If your own eggs are no longer up to snuff (as is my situation), you can still use donor eggs or even donor embryos. Giving birth can still happen for you. You may just need to find a new doctor! GL!
