I was diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis on Tuesday and given antibiotics. I was taking one a day because I swore that's what the directions said. I looked in the bottle today and thought to myself that there were way too many pills left. That's when I read the directions again. It says right on there that I was supposed to be taking two pills per day!! Now im freaking out. What have I done? Will these still be effective on my infection if i take the remaining pills properly?? I feel like an idiot and that I might have messed something up.

What kind of antibiotics are they and what dose? Is it metronidazole? try not to worry too much though it's very unlikely to cause any problems, worst case scenario is that the infection doesn't completely clear - but this is likely to be fairly obvious to you whether it's still causing symptoms or not! I would advise you phone your GP and ask him, I know this might be difficult depending on your GP surgery/where you live etc, but it's probably the best advice i can give you just to be on the safe side x
Oh, also i know tomorrow is sunday so GP's unlikely to be contactable.....I would just go with the normal dose (2 a day) until you either phone a GP and get confirmation or different advice, or you decide to just finish the script x

Yes, the antibiotic you named is what I've been given. I will call them on Tuesday, since they also closed on Monday. They are 500 mg tablets. I had no idea I even had this infection to begin with so I wouldn't even know how to tell if its gone. The only reason I asked to be tested was due to a pale yellow discharge. No odor with it. I'm just really worried. Alot of internet sites claim bacterial vaginosis causes miscarriage
