Hi girls! Can i come join you? :hugs:

My little boy is 3 weeks today... havent even got round to writing my birth story yet (wasnt very nice ) but all is going hunky dorey... completelt in love!! :cloud9:

Anyway, please tell me some good news! :dohh:

Feeding is going well, the chunky monkey has gone from 8lb5 to 9lb14 in just under 3 weeks.... but.... every time he feeds i end up with milk all over his face, my top, his clothes and a puddle on my lap!! I have muslins tucked into my bra otherwise that gets soaked, he wears a bib and i have a muslin on my lap, but we still usually end up wet!! When will the milk calm down??

Hey :hi: Congratulations :happydance: Am sorry it wasnt a good experience for you :(

:hugs:

I don't know about your milk calming down hun but atleast you have a great supply, one less thing to worry about :happydance:

I'm sorry your birth wasn't great but atleast your feeding is going well hun

Thanks girls :hugs:

Oh my god  Does nobody else flood the room when they feed??
I cant imagine being able to feed in public whilst its this messy! :dohh:

I'm there with you lol. Not AS bad this time as with my first but still annoying! with Julian it didn't stop for about 3 months and even then it didn't stop it just calmed down a little.

Congrats!!! I was just checking your journal the other day to see how things were!!!

Your milk should settle down in the next few weeks. Dont complain too much - I think there are quite a few mums on here who would take your over supply to stop them worrying they dont have enough. Once your supply regulates you should find you dont leak as much.

Congrats again....so nice to have you over here :D

Hey just to say, i was like that too i could go through a muslin each feed or 3 breast pads. I have an insane amount of milk... it has calmed down but only about 5 months in :dohh: However i think thats unusual, milk goes everywhere and she gulps and chokes etc  Poor baby, i still have a very fast flow but its calmed down.

Congratulations!

Yes, we had this problem too. It didn't calm down until around 4 months. But now I don't need to wear breastpads as I hardly ever leak. It did make feeding in public quite difficult during those early months though as she did cough and splutter a lot and break off crying. She has learnt to control it now though and I am thankful that I have a good steady supply...so is she!

hey wishes,

congrats on lill'un, was wondering what had happened with you, was a long wait!

im having same problem at the moment, as soon as he starts sucking its like a tap and if he lets go before he's had a full feed theres no way of switching it off! ive also found recently that when he starts feeding from one breast the other also starts leaking. at least the feeds have been reduced from 1hr to 10-15mins, prob due to the speed of the milk!

Its crazy how many muslins we get through. Its the trying to hold him, get my boob out and tuck the muslins in wihtout flashing anyone that im struggling with!

He does seem to be choking himself not quite so much now, maybe only one episode per feed now... although the not breathing dsoesnt seem to bother him, he just snorts for more food even though hes bright red and not breathing! :dohh:

So glad its not just me then! Thanks girls! :hugs:

Wishes, great to see you, been thinking about you and whether or not your april baby would make an appearence:hugs: Look forward to reading your birth story (mine was bad too:hug:)

Ellis is exactley the same, quite often he would take a full mouth but drink half and let the other half dribble out over me:dohh: lazy little bugger:baby:

congrats on your baby boy!!!

Mine was the same at first, if Fred pulled off milk went everywhere, up the walls, all over his face, everywhere! its better now, he guzzles though and still chokes himself most feeds!

xxx
