Hello I am new here but we have been trying for baby #3 for more than a year with my really irregular periods its been very hard (it would sometimes be 8weeks before a period) So my doc put me on metformin to regulate them and it has worked they are about 4 weeks and 5 days apart for that last 3 months. Just wondering if anyone else had luck with metformin and getting pregnant. Period is to start in 3 days so I have my fingers crossed.

Well it definitely worked for me!

I had irregular periods and my tests showed I wasn't ovulating very well. I got diagnosed with insulin resistance/pre-diabetes after a glucose tolerance test, so my doc put me on metformin. Almost immediately my cycles improved, they became almost textbook, I even started ovulating a day or 2 early most cycles (instead of a few days late like before). It still took a few months of trying, I think I started the metformin in June, but I'm going to be 5 weeks pregnant tomorrow (first time I've ever had a positive). So still early days, but we're hopeful.

Good luck to you!

Aww thats great! Congratulations! I have had regular periods for the last 3 months on it and this month I was suppose to start yesterday or today and nothing yet but took a pregnancy test 2 days ago and it was negative. So I guess wait and see
