Anyone else on it. I had a arrhythmia and had to go to the hospital where they gave me this. I have been prescribed a month of it and really scared to take it.

I would take it. I looked it up and think it would be better for you to take it than not. As a mom you are scared to take it and I understand but you need to protect your heart for you and the baby. Maybe just take it until you see the specialist. I can tell you that when I was pregnant with my daughter I started to get a very fast heart rate and have trouble breathing for no reason periodically. It would last a while until I was able to lay perfectly still for at least 15 min. My perinatologist said it was the result of increased progesterone levels in pregnancy. Those episodes were terrifying and they seemed to last forever. After about 34 weeks or so they went away. I never took anything for them. I got my first one in this pregnancy yesterday. A little unnerving but it passed.

Obviously the Dr that prescribed the meds thinks they are necessary right now. Remember that you are past the 13 week mark of organogenesis so there can't be any major problems with the baby's development. Rely on your scientific training to help guide you. You'll make the right decision to take them or not for you. Best wishes your way!!

Yeah, I just wished they told me all the crap on the drug sheets. I dont get why I will be on it when my heart wasnt irregular it was just fast. Plus this is the first time I have had it. I would feel better if it was a more ongoing problem then once in 28 weeks.
I see my maternity doctor on Wednesday and will discuss it more then.

During my fast heart rate you can hardly tell anything is wrong all my other vitals were fine.

If it was for blood pressure or something that I have been diagnosed with I would feel better. Also it has nasty effects on the stomach that Im still dealing with by taking one pill.

2 days ago i had the same thing its called svt my heat rate was 200 but everything else was normal. it lasted for over 9 hours and i ended up in the er. the cardiologist suggested i take inderal 3 times a day for the rest of my pregnancy i a currenlty 20 weeks, but my gynecologist refused and said that since it was the first time that the svt occurs and since its not repetetive theres no need to take the medicine which might pose a small risk on the baby..

I had my appointment with my mat doc and I dont have to take it. I never got into a SVT just sinus tach. I have a echocardiogram in 2 weeks and i am seeing a specialist that only sees pregnant women with heart rhythm problems.

Taking the medicine would of been just for my comfort. My heart rate has no risk to the baby and no risk to me. I wont take it because i dont see why I would risk the baby for my own comfort.

i had recurrent svts during pregnancy. heart rate near 300 and blood pressure would drop drasticilly. had to go to er and get adenosine to restart normal heart rate.i was perscribed that drug and had to use it otherwise id go into svts. my babies movement slowed down when on it so i stopped taking it and put myself on strict bedrest until my pregnancy was over...
