midwife appointment UK

hello when do you get your first midwife appointment in the uk im 8 weeks tommorrw and this is my first pregnancy so i thought i would have had one by now or as least had one arrranged. been to gp so he knows and said he book me in to a midwife. just want things to start moving along. xxx

Don't know if it depends on where about you live in the UK but, my Dr told me that the midwife will see me between 10 and 12 weeks, with the first scan at 15 weeks (which seems like ages away to me!).

that does seem ages some seem to say sooner and some later xxx

Depends on your area & your history really! First MW is around 10-12 weeks and US around 12 week too then 20 but it really can vary.

I have my first midwife appt at 10weeks and I live in the UK.

i had my first app at 5 wks the first app is mainly paperwork medical history etc u may get blood pressure checked also

hey im in the uk and my doctor told me to just book the next available appointment with the midwife and i think ill be about 7 weeks then! omg! scary! im so excited but until i hear/see the little thing then it doesnt seem real. but this sickness has got to be coming from somewhere! lol xxxx

I didn't think they let you make appt with the midwife untill you'd missed two periods lol

I was lucky and had my booking in appointment at 8 weeks.

further to my first post i have had my date back for my midwife appointment next friday the 16th of november and my scan date for the 4th december cant wait it all seems more real now. i got my scan letter on friday and the midwife letter this morning. xxx

Glad you have your appointments through Clairbear, I'd love to have at least a midwife appointment booked even if was a few weeks away just so that I know it's there - does that make sense?

I'm 7 weeks and 3 days so will have to wait a bit longer before I hear about a MW appointment.
