my midwife has been asking me (already!!) where i would like to give birth!
now with jake i went to my local hospital which had midwifes and doctors available for things like epidurals.

now i had a awful labour with jake, and thank god there were doctors there! ended up being taken to theatre for a forceps delivery, failing that a c-section. i also had an epidural.

now this place has changed to being only midwife led. which means no epidural... and being rushed to another hospital about 10 miles or so away if something were to go 'wrong'.

i said id like to go straight to the consultant led place a bit further away... but she was really twisting my arm to try and get me to go to the midwife led place as it's like a 'health' spa. (wasn't when i was there last year!!!!)

the only thing im worried about is a) not being able to get an epidural should i NEED one b) something going wrong and me having to be transferred!!

what would you do?!

u obviously dont feel comfortable with being in the mw led so go with the place u feel most comfortable and dont let her try to bully u

i agree with the above. do what you want otherwise you'll send the rest of your pregnancy worrying about it.

I agree about going where you feel comfortable :hugs:

I planned to deliver at a midwife led unit but was transferred on the day because of a thick meconium in my waters xx

I'd go wherever you feel most comfortable, some people like to be in a place where a consultant is on hand and find that reassuring for them.
First time I planned a midwife led, but I couldn't go there because I had to be induced. Again planning to deliver there if all goes well. I liked the atmosphere there the midwifes are all lovely and it's very, very relaxed and quiet not like a massive hospital, however my experience at the hospital was fine too.
