midwife on Friday and so nervous!!!

Hi everyone :wave: I have the midwife on Friday and I'm so nervous!! I already have 2 kids 12 and 13 but it's like starting all over if you know what I mean.I should be really looking forward to it which I am but so nervous too.At 37 I should be relaxed!!!! ha ha Any advice xx

Try not to be nervous! I had my first midwife appointment 2 weeks ago and appart from having to answer hundreds of questions it was a breeze. I was quite amazed at how much less formal it is commpared to when my older kids were born, my youngest is 11. x

Thanks I just feel at my age it's 'taboo' which I know is silly.I just get the impression I know I'll get looked down at but I doubt very much that will happen.Guess my mind is working over-time!!! I'll let you know how I get on Whereabouts in Scotland are you from? x

I feel the same Dee. My first appt is Thurs. I'm 41 and have a few phyical problems to boot!

But, I know that the dr and midwives at this office are wonderful. And I know they aren't going to look down on me or anything. So I just need to keep telling myself that and staying positive. I'm sure that I'll get 'looks' from those who think they know better, as my belly starts to grow. But I have to remember that this is between my Dh, God and I, and no one else matters.

Good luck to you too Dorian!!My doc was fab when I told him I was pregnant and said I was just a young thing!!! That did make me feel better but I still have these thoughts like you with the strange looks etc but you're right it's noone else's business.Will let you know how it goes xx
