Hi

I am seeing the midwife tomorrow for the first time, what should i expect? do i need to take anything/do anything?

Nah you'll just be asked loads of questions about family history etc :)

Yup, just lots and lots of questions, probably send you to get blood work done and they *might* do an exam but most places wait until your 2nd visit for that. Its actually really boring

Appointments start getting better at 10+ weeks, thats when they'll start checking for the heartbeat, depending on the doctor.

I was 11 weeks when I had my 1st.

I got asked loads of questions about mine and partners family history. She asked a few questions about any tests I wanted (downs ect) and asked if I wanted scans.

She also felt my belly and heard the heartbeat. She also give me my bounty pack to keep my notes in and a few leaflets about pregnancy.

She also tried to do my bloods but after 5 times :dohh:I had to go hospital for it to be done. She might want a urine sample aswell, she will give you a bottle for this and you can then just do it and give it to her then.

Hope that helps :) x

Thanks everyone for your replies very useful, thanks! was hoping i'd find out how far i am today or something, as i am unsure!

well she will give u an edd going from ur lmp but then when u have ur first scan they give u a proper date
