Well it may me a bit soon to consider myself a LTTTC'er but as we are now under an ACU I thought it would be ok to join you ladies here :flower:

Me (27) and fiance (28) have been TTC for a year now, I stopped taking the pill and we started trying straight away, however we haven't so much as had a hint of a BFP yet :( and all sorts of things are starting to run through my mind that could be wrong - PCOS, blocked tubes, Cervical mucus to thick (due to Cystic Fibrosis), or my eggs are just no good :nope:

Since I came off the pill (loestrin) my periods returned straight away and have been very regular since (28-30 days, mainly 29) but they are very, very light and only last about 36-48 hours with not much more than spotting for a day or two after that. Nothing like they used to be when I was a teenager (4-5 days with at least 1 day being quite heavy)

We had our first appointment at Guy's ACU this past Wednesday and have been given forms for bloods (CD 3 & 21), Hycosy scan and SA for my fiance. It's just a matter of getting all those done and finding out the results and then hopefully we'll be closer to finding out what the problem is and I can put my mind at ease a bit.

Hi, I have also incredibly light periods. They usually last 2 days and I then have a couple of days of spotting. I was told spotting is due to low progesterone which can be caused by ovulation that isn't strong enough. However, I have since had a lap and dye which showed one blocked tube and 2 tiny bits of endometriosis. I'm so glad I had the lap as if I'd just had HSG it wouldn't have shown endo. Anyway, after the lap I still have light periods. I'm hoping the Femara and HCG injections will increase the quality of my ovulation and raise my progesterone levels so I can get my BFP. Get as many tests done as you can and you will really need to be forceful with NHS docs. Good luck xx

It's really fustrating keep reading opposite opinions regarding the short periods, some people say it's fine others say it's a sign pf problem and I stupidly forgot to ask when I was at my appointment last week :dohh:

NHS will not generally consider it to be a problem. Think they say 3 days or more is normal. I'm seeing a Napro specialist and they look at every symptom and work out what it means.
