Hi,

10 years ago when I was 25 I had a laproscopy which showed I had mild to moderate endometriosis. I took the pill constantly after that for abt 3 months but because it made me sick I stopped taking it. Because the endo didn't affect me at all in terms of pain and periods I just left it at that.

Now at 35 I've been online and seen that even with mild to moderate endo your chances of conceiving each month drop from 25% to 7%!!!!? is this true?

I'm now absolutely petrified I have severely impaired fertility and also may have allowed the endo to worsen although I have had no probelms at all with pain and periods.

Can anyone help? I'm not sure what to do and feel v upset.

Totally understand why you are worried but remember that those are just percentages and it's a generalisation. The only way to know for sure is to see a gynae. Have you been to see your GP about TTC. I would ask them to refer you to either a gynae or fertility specialist.
If you already have a diagnosis of endo you should be able to see a fertility specialist sooner than if you had no known cause of fertility problems. They might want to do another laparoscopy to assess what stage your endo is at and whether you have scar tissue etc, or they might just check your tubes to begin with. If it turns out you have moderate to severe endo they might put you on Zoladex or Prostap for a few months (normally 6) to shrink the endo and hopefully increase your chances of conceiving, although this will probably seem like too long to put off TTC.
It's a really difficult thing to deal with but what you need to remember is that endo is different for every women, there are women with minimal amounts that have pain and probs conceiving then there are ones with severe endo that get pregnant with no probs!
Personally I have constant pain and endo over most of my pelvis but have conceived three times (m/c'd though). But we have jumped the queue and although we've only been trying 9 months we're seeing the FS on Monday!

i can understand you being scared but like fifi said the only way to know what you're dealing with is to go see your dr and ask for a referal. there are plenty of women with mild to moderate endo that go on to have happy, healthy pregnancies :) you just need to know what you're dealing with and the FS will be able to tell you. good luck!

i really hope you get some positive feedback :)
