I wasn't even sure if this would go under this forum but.....
My 5 month old was bf until 3 months, then put on formula (Enfamil A+, same thing I fed my older dd). Pretty well since she was born she's been spitting up A LOT, all my friends and family comment on how much she does. And even I know it's excessive. Her Ped said it was normal and she's gaining wait so it was fine. As her mother I firmly believe there is an underlying issue. Along with the spit up she's very gassy and colicky especially at night! She only sleeps 3 hrs at most (had a few odd days of 12hr sleep) it's like she wakes up from tummy pain, I can hear her tummy! She doesn't take a dummy, hard as I've tried, won't be calmed by my rocking, singing, humming, patting etc. I used to be able to feed her and she'd fall back asleep but then she'd be so asleep I couldn't burp her and within 3 hrs either way she'd be up again seemingly not hungry but unable to get back to sleep with or without help. I generally stick to a bedtime routine, I have to as my oldest dd is only 19 mths. Another reason why this up all night business is wearing me down. If I let dd #2 scream it sometimes wakes dd #1, and dh doesn't help at all. So day naps or crying anything out is not going to work. Also within the last month she's gotten worse, she's always been strong and I can not even hold her while she's screaming cause she arches her back and twists ans turns and pulls my hair. And a bottle doesn't do anything she finishes and back to the screaming. And she's had a rash and eczema (splotches) that medicated cream won't help with. Has anyone had this happen to them?? Or know if this could be that she's got an allergy or is lactose intollerant?? It seems like it is to me from what I've read. Her ped isn't much help either cause he blows it off as oh that's normal it's all normal. When I know it's not! Especially when comments from friends and family r that it's definitely not normal behavior. Is there testing?

How was she when you were bfing? and were you consuming dairy products then? I know you said she's always spit up a lot, but that actually can be pretty common, it's the crying and back arching all the time along with it that would make me want to try to change the formula. She may just need a change to a "gentle" formula and I'd try that first. If your pead isn't being helpful, just try a different formula on your own, it won't hurt to try. If you want to stick with Enfamil, try their Gentlease first. That's what I would do.

When she was bfing she still spit up and was very gassy, and I did consume dairy (I love milk and cheese and yogurt lol). I had already switched to the Gentease kind, with no change what so ever, gripe water has not worked, advil doesnt do anything cause I thought at one point it was a teething thing since she was drooling and chewing like.

I did everything suggested for the spit up, burping very well, keeping her upright, no bouncing or crazy activity after, trying different bottles. Even her bm's are irregular, she goes between bad constipation to the point where it rips her bum to very loose. (I already have severe constipation issues with my 19 month old and they've been since she was 6 months old too, which she has to take meds for, all because the dr kept saying it's normal. :growlmad: )

I'm going to try talking to the dr about lactose free formula or that nutramigen ? I"m not having 2 kids screaming and having tummy problems just because the dr wont try to help me solve the problem. I've read mixed reviews of lactose intolerance being hereditary or not. All I know is it's EVERYWHERE in my family and my hubby's. My mom dad and 2 of my sisters have it. Both his parents do.....

Gentlease didn't help my lo and the pead was talking about hypoallergenic formula but I didn't want to jump to that right away so I tried her on gerber good start gentle and she's was MUCH better. Reflux meds didn't help my lo either and actually made her more gassy.
