How soon is the Mirena affective? I just had mine placed yesterday. I'm ebf and haven't had a cycle yet. Dr said I prolly won't have a period since I'm bf. Said I can resume sex etc. Also said its not affective until after my 5week check up? Is this really true? I thought it was affective right away? We are so ready to do the deed without a condom! That's why I chose the mirena. Now we have to wait even longer?! I'm 8weeks pp.
