My first sperm test was only 0.5ml but had 18.1mil little swimmers but they lost my bloods so could not freeze them. have gone back for two more goes and there where NO sperm there,

Has this happend to anyone else or is there anything i can do to get them swimmers back!!!!!!!!!!

thanks:coffee::coffee:

Hiya,

I don't understand why they would want to freeze your sample? Don't they just discard after analysis? And if you go through IVF/ICSI, don't they use fresh sample, done on morning of egg retrieval?

For helping sperm count, you can do some lifestyle changes, and boost your body with vitamins. No baths, no hot showers and eating healthily. Cut down or cut out on caffeine and alcohol and cigarettes. My hubby is also taking Wellman vitamins at the moment, to see if it all helps.

Good luck!

For IVF they freeze some sperm. When you have your firt go on the NHS you use a fresh sample and you are also entitled to one frozen go at IVF/ICSI.

Hi and welcome!

Like peartree says there are lots of things you can do to try to increase sperm levels. Have you had any scans or ultrasounds, there could be a physical reason for no sperm?

Good luck

Hi!! We've had several tests now, the first was 1 million and the last 16 million.
The usual lifestyle changes helped as well as multi vits.
Colds, flu and other illnesses can reduce count which means 70-90 days for the next 'batch' to mature plus the more aroused u are the better the production.

Hope the wait isn't too bad & ur dreams come true :hugs:

My DH had his SA results back last week. His concentration (count), PH and motility were all fine but his morphology results weren't so good. He's now cut out alcohol, doesn't really drink caffeine much and has never smoked. I'm now allowed to nag him if he has his laptop anywhere near his lap and I've stocked up on Wellman tablets.

Fingers crossed that this will help. The doctor said that it shouldn't stop us getting pregnant, but that it could take longer. Just what we wanted to hear after having tried for a year already! :dohh: Still, at least we know and DH can make some adjustments to his lifestyle.

My clinic also froze a sample as a backup plan in case something happened the day of collection.

My husband has very few swimmers but ICSI worked for us on our first try!
