Is it ok to mix breastmilk and formula ?

I ask this as max is down to 1-2 feedings a day (booby) and well since h refuses to latch on the boob I put it in his formula ..I dont make enough to actually put it in the bottle :(

I'm not sure I'd mix them together personally. Some mothers mix powdered formula with their breast milk in order to increase the calories their baby gets during a feeding. Please do not do this! Not only does it change the composition of the breast milk, but the micronutrients in the formula will become so much more concentrated that it can be very hard on your baby's immature kidneys. Always follow the exact directions on the can of powdered or concentrated formula, and never mix formula with anything but distilled water.

Special care were doing this when Tabs was in there for 12 days,i could only express an oz at a time and they said it was fine. So long as whatever formula you make up is made correctly then the boobie juice on top.

Oh sorry forgot to mention I do make his formula as said on the can but I add milk once its done and all lol I wouldnt mix just breastmilk instead of water

Can't see any reason why you shouldn't as long as you mix them just before you feed him - it's no different to giving him a bottle of one and then the other x

I used to mix formula with my breast milk, just as you are (mix formula first and add breast milk) it was the only way I was able to get Jaedan to take a bottle. You should be fine.

Yes, I've known many women who do this. Most I know use whatever milk they have, add the formula and whatever water is needed to make up the difference. When they are old enough, you can use cows milk to make up the difference as well.
