Hi I just find out that I am pregnant with monoamniotic triplets, but only 2 have heartbits. I guess my question is, does anyone had this and result in a singleton pregnancy? As one is already passed away, and I don't know if I can handle a momo twin pregancy, this only hope I have is can this end up with only one normal healthy baby?
I am having another scan this friday to see if there is still two or we are down to one. I am considering termination, witch is horrible to think about but I know That i do not want to take on the risk of a momo twin pregancy. Please any advice will help, we are in a very incomfortable dilemma :nope:

I just looked this complication up, and it does look scary. It seems like the rate of successful pregnancy, while certainly not always complication free, is high though. I'm so sorry you're in this situation. We all hope to not be part of some very small percentage.

I have fraternal twins and know many momo twins from twins club - I didn't think the risk of carrying momo twins were that great. Have you been accross to twins and multiples section an had a browse there are lots of expectant mums over there who will know more - I am sorry I can't help but as I say my boys are frats x

i agree with vicki about heading over to the twins and multiple section on here.

When i found out i was having twins and before i had even thought to ask what kind of twins (i am having di-di) i went online and did some reading and to be honest it scared me. All i could think was how am i going to be able to do this how are they going to even make it to term i was convince they were going to come at any minute.
Even the stuff my doctor told me at first scared me as he said he had to tell me the worst case situation and all the things that may happen.

The ladies in the other section have been through it or are going through it. Just reading through some of the post gave me a better perspective of what to expect and if i have any questions they are very honest and supportive and very helpful.

I can tell you for me a twin pregnancy has been harder on my body compared to my singleton ones but for the most part has been going with very little complications. when i had first found out i was devastated but now i couldn't be happier and can't wait to see both my babies and hold them in my arms.

and sorry for your loss of your other baby.

I am also pregnant with twins, but mine are fraternal. When we found out at 7 weeks we were in shock for at least a week. Then the news settled in and we couldn't be happier. With MOMO twins you would be monitored very closely for any complications. All of the stuff online is very scary and always gives the worst case scenarios. I am sorry you are facing this dilemma as I know it is very personal and very difficult. Only you and your partner know what is best for you in your situation.

How far along are you?

At 9 weeks, I was told my twins were momo. I freaked out. Did all the research. Went on Google. Cried.

At 12 weeks, we discovered a thin membrane between them.

Don't worry yet. There are too many possibilities and things can appear to be one way when they're actually quite different. Most twins diagnosed as momo end up not actually being momos. :hugs:

Mine are mo-di. And with all the monitoring they do, you will find out a lot about their development. Praying for you.

I was pregnant with MoMo twins also! I had three diff scans early on which saw no membrane or a second sac. At 8 weeks along my twin b stopped growing and lost her heart beat. I am now almost 36 weeks with my surviving twin girl! I was told it was best for baby that we lost twin b early on. And twin a would absurb it. It puts the other baby at risk if your farther along and lose one. I allso had a ton of things wrong besides the MoMo twins. I had a blot clot in there...I passed it. I had placenta previa which is gone. A utrine band that has seemed to vanished. and my girl is STILL in transverse position at 36 weeks. I all so bleed up until five months. But I am almost full term with my twin A. i was told triplets at my first scan allso. But later on found out it was my blood clot.
