molar pregnancy

can anyone offer any advice, went for ultraound yesterday cos i had spot of bleeding on fri, docs said there was no sac just tissue in u/s. i thot i was about 5 weeks he said it could be molar preg, but my hcg levels should be really high when infact they were only 74 anyine had any similar experience?

Hi Meg, I am going through the very same thing. I was about five weeks then had spotting, initially told it was an ectopic. Did the u/s nothing was there. My hcg levels started at 980 then went to 630 ten back up to 950. My Dr. did a biopsy still waiting on results.He said something was wrong and thats why the baby failed to grow like downs or something. I am very anxious aboutthe results of my biopsy i did however get a shot of methotrexate(not sure of the spelling). I have to be back in the office monday for more blood work. I have been in the drs office twice a week now for the last two weeks for blood work alone. I stopped asking what the hcg levels were last week, I just want them to say everything is fine. We have two children 2yrs and 9months, so we weren't ready for another just yet, but never the less we were excited and then this happened. I can't understand it. I am a healthy person, not overweight exercise daily could eat healthier. I'm so sorry for your loss, I sure wish I had more answers for you.

thnka for your support, it is just so confusing and docs can't seem to answer any questions i have. any ideas why my hcg levels would be so low - cos they said if it was a molar preg they would be really high - in the thousands at least??
