Our lo is turning 14 weeks on tuesday and I can't for the life of me put her down for a nap (she sleeps sort of well at night though..midnight to 6am).
But if i have her on me, and thats pretty much every day ALL DAY, she'll sleep 3-5 hours in one go.

If i feed, change and try to put her in her cot or even on the couch she'll wake up crying and not settle at all.
I'm about to lose my marbles as I can't do anything.
I sit on the couch all day acting as her bed :(

Please tell me what I could do

Hi ...I did exactly the same thing for 4 months ....she slept only on my chest and refused to sleep anywhere else ..she was sleeping on me through the night waking every 2 hours for feeding ...I spent the first 4 months in a semi reclined position with piles of pillows to support my back all day every day .

Then @ 4 months one day she refused to sleep on me just on her own ...and rolled her self of me and went to sleep on bed (we Co sleep)

No great advice ...and I know it can be a bit frustrating when you can't get anything done ..hang in there ...:hugs::hugs:

My little boy was like this until 4 months he started waking hourly at night aswell I was a mess, I decided to do a little sleep training with him the ssh pat method and all sleeps in the cot in all honesty there was not a lot of crying and he adjusted really well to it and now but now he won't snuggle in with me and cuddle or anything and I have difficulty rocking him to sleep if I am at another persons house but it works fine if I am in the house for nap times or If he is in his pram he will sleep while we are working. I do sometimes wish he would cuddle in and go to sleep though.

thanks for your answers so far. seems like at 4 months things are changing, hm?!

Have u tried a swing? My ds napped in his until 6 months!

We used...

--a little vibrating chair
--a swing
--white noise

It helped a bit, but I do remember my son wanting to be held a lot. Now, I hardly get cuddles lol!

she hates the swing and vibrating chair that we have for her :( and white noise doesnt seem to do anything for her. its tough

My daughter refused to be put down for a nap till five months. Do you have a wrap or carrier? That was my salvation. Then at least you can get a few bits and pieces done.

Yeah u may need a wrap to carry her around if u wanna get anything done then. These babies make all the rules, don't they?!

Lol they do make the rules. Sorry hon that the chair and white noise don't work for you. They helped us at times, but I vividly remember days of my son in particular not letting me put him down. I'm disabled so it was tough to hold a lo old all day, but I remember trying so hard to sneakily put him down veryyyy slowly into his crib, and having him grin and me and then scream.

Sorry that I don't have any advice. For us, that got easier, but other things got more difficult (like sleeping through the night---or sleeping at all). But every baby is different. Things can change in a snap.

The only way I could put Violet down as a baby was to put her in her rocker. It was a Fisher Price Infant to Toddler Rocker. Violet still naps in it at 2 years 2 months. We bought another one for the baby who is due in March. I know I sound like an advertisement, but the thing really was helpful.

first couple months I was sat in my rocker glider all day, then I got an Ergo carrier and walked all day.

the swing was a no-go, same with the bouncy chair. I do remember bundling her up and putting her in the carseat out on the balcony in the winter, she took quite a few naps that way.
