More Clomid questions xx

Hey everyone,
I really hope you don't mind me posting here
Hope you're all okay and having a good day

Had my 2nd fs appointment today and I've been given Clomid.

Since the last appointment 3 months ago, I've had bloods, a hsg and 2 pelvic exams (ultra sound twice and camera twice)
We knew I had PCOS but was told today it's only slight (not sure what he meant by only slightly, I thought you either had it or you didn't lol)
I have irregular cycles as well which can be annoying.
I was convinced I wasn't ov'ing at all but was told today that I am. I'm sure it isn't every cycle that I ov as sometimes I'll get af again on day 13 after an 8 day period

The clomid is 50mg and I take it day 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.

On my first day of period I've been asked to ring up and book for a clomid test, I'm guessing this is to see if its worked. What is it they do?
If its come back that I am ov'ing, then will clomid work? I thought it was for girls who aren't ov'ing?

Mike, my o.h has told me to stop worrying as the fs knows what he is talking about and I know that is true but still curious lol.

I was also having irregular periods with mid-cycle bleeding. The doctor determined I was not ovulating properly. He then prescibed Clomid 50 mg CD5-9.

However, I am not sure what you mean by "clomid test" ?? Some woman have scans to track thier ovulation while others have bloodwork around 7 days past ovulation. I have only gotten bloodwork which detects your level of progesterone (it must be a certain number to confirm ovulation).

I would have to agree with OH and try not to worry so much. FS may be trying you on Clomid for one cycle and see how it affects your O. Fingers crossed for you. Did you start the Clomid yet or are you waiting for AF?

Hi there Scamp,

I am currently on my 3rd cycle of clomid. I think by clomid test they mean the blood test which I had on cd21 to check for ovulation. On my 1st cycle of clomid I did ovultae but my consultant has told me to carry on taking 50mg clomid for 6 months. I am unexplained fertility and I think even if you do ovulate the docs still prescribe it as it gives you abit of a kick start lol!

He didn't say what the Clomid test was, just that I was to ring on the first day of my period. I thought it might be bloods.
Not started Clomid yet, got my box (6 months worth!) just waiting for af. For once I really can't wait for it to arrive lol

I think they put you on Clomid to boost ovulation or something along those lines.
I think the test will either be an u/s or 7DPO bloods for progesterone levels.

I hope it works first time and you get your BFP

I had bloods taken in day 2 when I was starting the clomid, but again I'm not really sure why! My situation is almost identical to yours Scamp, I could have written your post myself!! GL with the clomid, I am on day 3 today, just can't wait for a couple of weeks now to see if it works! x

Yes this is my first round, Im not having a scan, just have to go back on day 21 for blood tests!

Clomid is not just for when youre not Oing, people take it even if they are or not. It just boosts things and makes sure you o.
