more tests - long sorry.

hi,
this is my first time posting in this section, so

Bit of background: last year i had some tests/ultrasounds to check for PCOS and fibroids, no fibroids were found but they did find some cysts on my left ovary, they couldn't find my right one (maybe it was shy that day?) but as i have regular periods and along with other indications they decided that the results were indicative but not diagnostic of PCOS. So they're saying I don't have PCOS or fibroids.

they found i had a rearward sloping uterus as well but didn't really explain what that all meant and just sent me home with a few leaflets for heavy periods.

anyway, here we are a year later, no baby, no BFP and more blood tests.

Last month I had a day 21 test and the doc said the results were not as he would expect. it showed that my levels were lower then if i had ovulated but higher than if i hadn't. The doc wants me to go back for the next 3 months.

i monitor my cm but not using any ovulation tests at the moment, as i was getting stressed about having highs but no peaks on my CBFM.

What I'd like to ask you is what happens next? if the next 3 cycles come back 'not as he would expect' and still no baby. where do we go from there?

i'm a bit of a worrier but like to be prepared.

Firstly hello! I am afraid I cannot offer much advice but didn't want to read and run. Have the Dr's confirmed that you are definitely ovulating? If not they might be able to offer Clomid however I understand that this is normally only given if you aren't ovulating.

Have you mentioned to your Dr that you want to know what the next steps are as he/she might be able to guide you in the right direction. Also, have you been the fertility clinic or was all this done through the dr... it might be worth getting a second opinion.

they haven't confirmed i'm not ovulating, i'm going back next week for the second day 21 test. everything is being done through the doctors, he was very supportive so will ask him more questions then.

if i'm not ovulating is clomid the next step then?

becuse your hormones are not what they want them to be they might offer you some fertility treatment, there is a good chance that they might try clomid to see if it helps but get them to check for blockage before taking it. i really hope you get some answers and help soon x

hi do you know the exact level of ur day 21 test? i would phone ur dr surgery and ask. anything above 30 for the progesterone level indicates u have ovulated. i was diagnosed with polycysts on my only ovary last june and even tho my progesterone level was 64 which indicated i was ovulating i got referred to see a fertility specialist as we had been ttc for a year. saw her in the aug, she wanted dh sperm tested and me to have a hycosy ( check my fallopian tube was clear)....i had that done, good results & dh sperm improved so i was put on low dose of clomid 50mg end oct 09.....very pleased to say i got my bfp on 4th cycle of clomid.....id def give clomid a go!! xx

hi,

i had my my second test today and spoke with the nurse. Last month's progesterone level was 19.9, she said that she's not fully up to speed with what it meant.
I asked her what happens next and she said it will depend on this test.

Can anyone spread some light on what this means? Obviously 19.9 is less than the 30 dancingkaty mentioned. So does this mean I didn't ovulate?

I think all these tests are very confusing. I had the same blood test and my progesterone was 45. the results said anything greater than 30 indicated ovulation. i got no more info than that and ive been TTC for 3 years. im in the process of going back to the gP' next week to start all the investiagtions, blood tests etc
