Hi ladies,

I've heard that there is some point where it's normal for babies movements to either slowdown or change. Yesterday and today, while I've felt my little girl her movements aren't what I'm used to. It's possible that they just aren't as strong as I'm satisfied with or comfortable with.

Exactly how and when do the babies movements typically change?

I'm going to put a call in to my doctor in just two seconds for reassurance but at what point would you be alarmed and either call or go in? Like for example how long of baby not moving or of smaller movements is okay before you recognize a problem? (if that makes sense)

Thanks for all the advice and help in advance ladies. :flower:

I'm sure it can vary per woman/baby... but I've heard later 3rd tri. So right about where you are at... I remember about 30wks or so my little ones movement weren't AS strong or "wild" as they once were... I would feel more pushes/shoves or smaller squirms. That is still MOSTLY what I feel... although she still has her moments she is more active than other times... some days she is more active than others too. If I really think about it or wonder when she last moved, I try to find a place I can lean back and wait... she usually moves after a while in that position. I'm guessing it free's up some room for her ;) As when I stand up my stomach is SO hard- I pretty much only feel when she pushes out a foot or something.

But it certainly cannot hurt to ask your doctor hun... nice to get that reassurance. I'm sure all is just perfect though. Hugs.

Thank you. I did put a call into my doctor and she said that as long as you feel movement things should be okay. She explained that babies do go through restful periods.

She said that if I don't feel the baby for a long period of time or an entire day then they definitely want me to come in. She said to also try these tips to get baby going:

Eating or drinking something with lots of sugar like soda pop or apple juice and like you said, to lie down or sit back and wait.

I'm happy that I haven't experienced a major period of time where I don't feel her but I still get so worried sometimes. I feel like it's just so close and if we were to lose her now it would paralyze me. I keep saying loads of prayers and I do my best to keep a positive and ligth attitude but sometimes things just get to you. Especially when there's a change in what you're used to. Olivia is always quieter on the weekends and I assume it's because I'm busy and moving around a lot so I notice her movements less than I do when I'm just sitting at a desk for 8 hours at work.

I honestly just can't wait until she's here, I know it'll be another onslaught of worries but I'm ready to have her in my arms and to have some knowledgeable control on her well being if that makes sense.

Thanks again for your encouragements. :hugs:

I totally understand hun... when I first felt Madden move, I would start to freak a little whenever she was too quiet... LOL. Then I got more comfy with her movements and how she was day by day... but then the movements changed/slowed down a bit... and new worries come... it's normal. We ALL go through it!!!

There are still some days she is just so active, and others where she is sleeping more often... espeically on the days I'm out and about and busy and not paying as much attention probably?

All will be great though hun... not much longer to go!!!! So crazy to think that in some odd weeks we will be holding our little girls!!!! eek... hehe.

:hugs:
