Hi. I think I may just be a bit paranoid but can't stop worrying. From about 16 weeks I started to feel baby move, not much, not regularly, but a few times a day. The last few days I haven't really felt anything. I've tried laying still, eating or drinking something, etc. but nothing.

Midwife says not to worry about lack of movement until 20 weeks or more. I had my last appointment a week ago and heard heartbeat but I'm still worried. Is this normal, i.e. to feel movement and then not?

Yup. They are still pretty small at that stage and could just be hiding. My son liked to scare me like that all the time! I had a Doppler with him so I would just listen for his heartbeat for a few minutes but it is still very normal at that stage to not feel them everyday. Some people don't even feel movement until 22 weeks. My doctor told me he isn't worried about not feeling them move until after 36 weeks but I can still go in and get monitored if he isn't moving anytime after like 26 weeks I think.

When i spoke to sono at my 12w scan about the placenta it continues to move as uterus grows (i think thats what he said) so doesnt settle into a position until 20w. Maybe your placenta has now moved to anterior?
Or your just getting movement towards your back and cant feel it.

they have SO much room at that stage, so you may not feel baby all the time x

I didn't start feeling movement consistently everyday until around 19 weeks. It seemed like he would have 2 very active days followed by 2 very lazy days.

Hi Hun totally normal I could feel baby from the outside from about 17 weeks then baby slowed down a bit but yesterday and today baby has def let me no he is still their lol try and cold fizz drink always makes mine hypo and lay down after zxxx

I had lots of movement, and then starting around 16.5 I had nothing for 1.5 weeks! Now baby kicks so hard its insane! I wouldn't worry =)

I'm 24weeks and baby has very active days and very quiet days. I hadn't felt her for 24hrs by this morning and so went into ante natal day unit who found HB straight away. She's wriggled away ever since!!

X
