Hi
I don't know if I'm allowed to post on this area as I've only been trying to conceive for 5 months so not a long time however I've just had a scan and may have problems now and I think this is the only place that I might be able to get some advice. I hope I don't offend anyone by coming on.
I had a scan yesterday because I have just been diagnosed with low progesterone however I appear to be ovulating (positive opks and thermal shifts). The scan showed the left ovary was fine but the right ovary had multiple follicles. The sonographer said I could have PCOS in one ovary. I was surprised because I don't have the traditional signs of PCOS, my bmi is lower than average, my skin is normal, no unwanted hair, don't have trouble putting on weight, have regular (28-35 day) cycles, bleeding tends to be heavier not light at all. The only thing that I do have is a pain that I get on that side which starts at ovulation and stays on and off until AF, it feels like a low down stitch.
I have had my FSH and LH levels checked and they were both 4.3, which I'm told is pretty good. Obviously my progesterone is low but originally the doctor thought that was the case because of a hormone imbalance after stopping BF. So now I'm wondering if I do have PCOS, and how it might affect my cycles if I have just the one ovary with it. I am having more tests. - and insulin resistance one and a testosterone one in a week or so, so I will get a definite diagnosis before too long but I just wondered if anyone is in a similar situation and has any advice.
Thank you so much in advance.
