I put a huge long post in my journal (linked below) if you care to read the whole thing, it is more detailed and includes pictures and her nursery pics too!

But in summary she is doing amazing! She is 9 weeks old today, 34w5d gestation. She is now breastfeeding for most of her meals, 3 bottles with fortifier which is her going home plan, and a few breaks with the NG tube due to an apnea episode requiring stimulation. She is also on 1/16th of a Liter of oxygen which is also her going home plan, unless by some miracle she passes her room air test tomorrow. :shrug: She passed her hearing test. Is now in an open air crib and maintaining her temps well. She still has to do her carseat test, probably in a couple of days. We were looking at discharge on Tuesday but due to her episode last night we have to wait 7 more days, barring any future episodes of course. So it looks like she could come home as early as May 5th which would be 10w1d actual and 35w6d corrected.

We have been so lucky to have had such an uneventful course and we hope she continues doing well and gets to come home soon. Of course this is MUCH sooner than we EVER anticipated her getting to come home, but she has done things much different than us or her Dr's ever anticipated from a 25 weeker as well so who knows!

I'm so happy for you and your family...
Your little one has done soooo well and it's true what you've said having a really prem baby means many problems and things go wrong but for you she has pulled through and is defiantly a strong fighter..

I wish you all the happiness and love and hope she's home soon, then you can enjoy the night feeds cuddles kisses etc :flower:

Like I said before my 26 wkr went through so much and is still got continuos issues due to premurturity but I'm gratefull and definitely proud of my son and I'm sure you are with your baby..

Take care and still take a day at a time she's proved that's all that's needed
:hugs::hugs:

That's just amazing that she is almost ready to come home. So happy for you and Ellie.

We're having monitor training and oxygen delivered to the hospital today. Ellie passed her carseat test yesterday. We are still working on getting her to gain weight. She's only gained 10grams over the last 3 days so they're concerned. But we have until Monday to sort out her fortifier and all that to get her gaining. Fingers crossed Monday night well will be at home snuggling with our little Ellie!!!

I don't usually go on this section of baby&bump but saw your thread on the homepage and just wanted to wish your lo a speedy recovery. We spent only a short time on the nicu and I have so much respect to you long-stay parents and your amazing little fighters.

So glad your little girl is doing so well.
