Hi mums I had my daughter at 25weeks no one knows why I went into labour other than part of my membrane had come away. Now I just wondered if this is going to be likely to happen again with me delivering at 25weeks its very early I'm very concerned we may not have the same luck as we have had this time around.
Also the other day I laid my daughter down in her Moses basket which is normally propped up so its slanted and laid her flat as I thought her cot is going to be flat so I wanted to get her used to it now the paediatrician says she has reflux which I had been given thick and easy but it didn't agree with her at all and she was even more sicker and she ended up choking on her milk as she was laid flat it went up her nose no she didn't know what to do to breath she was turning blue all over I was petrified I didn't know what to do and now I am scared to leave her side because luckily I was in the room whilst it happened and if I hadn't I would hate to think what could have been!!!!
Has this happened to any of you?! Has it happened again or just the once?!
Safe to say I have propped h back up again !!

If she has reflux, I would always put her down at an angle, not flat, not even to get her used to it -- if her cot is flat, you need to prop her up somehow (there's wedges you can buy). I propped my oldest up for as long as I can remember, no matter where he was put down, until his reflux went away.

This happened twice to Niamh but because she was not loosing weight they refused to treat her for it. Best thing to do is just pick baby up so there upright and let them clear the milk themselfs. Keeping Niamh upright for 30 mins after a feed was the biggest help.

Thankyou I've got her a bouncer to keep her upright after every feed if we are out and about I can take it to people's houses.
I didn't realise you could prop the cot up I will definitely look into this I feel awful I always have her at a angle but the specialist never advised to have it that way it is something I have just done for her as she was at a angle in NICU.

I found the bouncer was still too flat. I used to have her head up on my shoulder or in the carrier.

my 32 weeker is currently on week 4 in hospital still on full NGT feeds as he chokes on the bottle, he hasn't learnt the suck/swallow/breathe technique and panics when he swallows milk, holding his breath.. then his heart rate and oxygen levels dangerously drop.
different to your story I know, but over there we are on infant gaviscon for reflux, domperidone (also a med for reflux), left side upright feeding, and lying on a tilt.
hope it helps xx

Thankyouuuu I have been prescribed the infant gaviscon and its working wonders!!

I hope your lil un gets the hang of it trust me he will I have been there then once he has there will be no stopping him lol my lil one is a gannet now I can't keep up to her feeds we are currently feeding on demand I'm just going to start weaning and trying baby rice n porridge as milk just isn't fulfilling her anymore :)
